Erin Marsh, a senior at Duke, finished the opening day of the women's heptathlon with 3,674 points at the NCAA Division 1 Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Marsh concluded the first four events with seven more points than when she achieved her lifetime-best score of 5,946 at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships in Durham, N.C.
